Lisa Dropkin – Principal

Lisa, a Principal at Edge, works with a diverse array of clients from large corporations like Intuit (makers of TurboTax) and Citrix (makers of GoToMeeting), to leading charities like the Nature Conservancy, to progressive non-profits like Welcoming America. Her attention to client objectives and ability to deliver insight that impacts the bottom line has earned her client relationships that extend over a decade.

From her work in the consumer sector, Lisa takes best research practices in branding, marketing, packaging and product development and leverages them for non-profit brands and membership development work. For corporate clients she combines 20 years of innovation in consumer research with her understanding of donor and activist engagement to help her corporate clients with customer relationship building and brand loyalty insights.

Lisa developed a team of researchers and data scientists to innovate the firm’s market segmentation approach. While many segmentations are values and attitudes driven, Edge uses behavior measures, trade-off analysis, CRM and other data to drive actionable segmentations.

Lisa leads the firm’s Conservation/Sustainability and Social Marketing practices and over the years she has conducted research for marquee brands such as The Ocean Conservancy, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and The David and Lucile Packard Foundation to name a few.

Prior to joining Edge Research, she served as research director for SeaWeb during its start-up as an innovative non-profit specializing in ocean conservation communication. Previously she spent seven years (her last year as Vice-President) at The Mellman Group, a national public opinion research and campaign strategy firm.

Lisa graduated summa cum laude with a B.A in Political Communications from the George Washington University in Washington, DC. She lives in Arlington, VA with her husband and two daughters. Lisa’s volunteer time includes acting as the parent liaison for outdoor learning at Key Spanish Immersion School, working with the science teachers to bring all grades outdoors for investigative, hands-on bilingual experiences working in the schoolyard garden.
